Editors Note

Our new web site is now “on line” thanks to Sandy Lawrence. Meetings, Workshops, pictures, and many other interesting facts are there so check often. On the same subject, check out the new look of the National ARS web site. It is really nice! People have told me they like to get the Newsletters, so we will continue to mail out three of them each year to our members. All information will also be on the internet. I am happy to see new members joining the Chapter and extend my “welcome aboard” I hope you find our activities enjoyable.

Regular Meetings

Our directors for the winter months are as follows: Jan. Debbie Segel, Feb. Allen Lescak and Ole Christensen, and Mar. Herbert Sanderson and Richie & Elaine Henzler (Courtly Music Unlimited). [See the complete schedule here.] Each has planned an interesting and varied program for us to play. Please note, the Feb. 21st. program will be designed for a large group. All the music is for both high and low choirs, or is arranged for 8 to 12 instruments including Great bass.

Inclement Weather

In case of inclement weather call the Pruyn House at 782-1435 before 4:30 P.M. They will have a special message concerning conditions and cancellations before venturing out on a stormy evening.

Scholarship

Each year scholarship money is available through our local Chapter for Workshop and other Educational opportunities. A brief written request is all that is necessary to be considered. Please include the event and the amount you are requesting. Send application letter to Sue Wright, Jutta VonSchwerin or Emmy Grubb. Addresses are in the membership list.

Music at the Pruyn House

As in past years, the Chapter provides music for the Holiday Open House on Sun. Dec. 3, 2006 in the afternoon. The Historic House will be decorated for the Holiday Season, light refreshment will be served, and music will be performed by the Sweetbrier II Consort and Corelli Clash.

Music Library

The local Chapter has an extensive library of recorder music for you to borrow and use. Everything from duets to double consort music is in the catalogue. Check with Lee Danielson if you want to use this valuable resource. Lee has added some new music and also some new suggestions to make the library easier to use, so check with Lee for the changes.

Workshop

The Chapter is considering hosting another Workshop this year. Please express your interest, and also suggestions for classes and coaches to Jutta VonSchwerin, Sue Wright, or Darleen Koreman. We need to get started on the organization if we are going to have another successful Workshop.
